HMS Furious (47) in the Clyde

This rare painting of HMS Furious captures her unique design. Originally launched as a Courageous Class battlecruiser and then converted to a flat-top, HMS Courageous supported actions in Norway, the Mediterranean and against the Tirpitz and survived the war. The painting is signed by her Captain on the reverse. 53x44cm. Cleaned and reframed.

HMS Scylla on D-Day

When she moved to her new role to cover the allied landings on D-Day, HMS Scylla also received a new coat of grey camouflage paint to suit her for the English Channel. This painting shows her shadowing a convoy in the distance. 55x47cm. Cleaned and in the original oak frame.

HMS Nairana (D05) in the Artic

This is another unusual subject and a rare, if not unique, painting on watercolour of the Escort Carrier HMS Nairana at in a pitching sea. She is painted in convoy with the lead ship sending a telegraph signal to the bridge. Lots of detailing of rear guns and rust. A beautiful painting with energy. 55x47cm. HMS H31

Commissioned in 1919, HMS H31 was part of the submarine force all through the 1920's and 1930's and was part of the blockade to keep the Scharnhorst in the post of Brest in 1940. She was lost with all hands in December 1941 in the English Channel - probably after hitting a mine. This is a stunning painting, very vibrant colours and in superb condition. 58x47cm. Cleaned and reframed.

This painting is on recycled paper as part of the wartime paper salvage scheme - thus it would never have retained the sort of colouring of canvas. Nevertheless, this is a lovely watercolour of HMS Wisheart in convoy protecting an aircraft carrier on her port side. that 57x48cm. Cleaned and reframed.

HMS Norfolk was a County-Class heavy cruiser. Launched in 1928, she served throughout the Second World War and, in May 1941, detected the Bismarck and Prince Eugen in the Denmark Strait.
